WE LOVE DAHLIAS

If you’ve visited our farm, you know that we love dahlias! For more than two decades, our local customers (and local pollinators) have had the pleasure of wandering the rows and gathering the gorgeous bounty that these plants provide. We are excited to now offer this experience at home to flower-lovers near and far!

FAYE’S FORT HILL ORIGINALS - NEW 2025!

We are excited to announce that we will have a very limited supply of brand-new-to-the-world dahlia varieties bred right on our farm by Faye Barry. Using the open-pollination method, Faye let the bees and bugs work their magic, saved the seeds they helped create, selected favorite plants, saved their tubers, then grew them again as trials for multiple seasons. Now they’re ready to share with you! Find them under the FHF ORIGINALS tab in our online shop. Read more about the process in our Fall 2025 newsletter.

OUR GROWING PRACTICES

Everything we grow on the farm, including the dahlias, is certified organic with a focus on building healthy soils. For more information about our growing practices, click HERE. All of the tubers we sell have been grown, dug, washed, divided, stored, sorted, and packed right here on our farm.

MORE TO COME

We post our first round of tubers for sale in early winter. As we get closer to spring and divide more tuber clumps, we will do a re-stock.

DID YOU KNOW?

Dahlias are native to Mexico and Central America where they were foraged for and cultivated by indigenous peoples for food, medicine, and tools centuries ago. Around 200 years ago, they were hybridized, and garden dahlias that we know and love were born. Today there are thousands of dahlia varieties, celebrated for their immense range of color and form. Dahlias are stars of the late-summer and autumn garden, coming into their full glory as other garden plants begin to fade, and blooming all the way to the first hard frost.
