Radishes
Radishes
Radishes have a peppery flavor and a pleasing crunch. They come in many different shapes, sizes, and colors. You will see the familiar red cherry radishes, elongated, red-tipped French breakfast radish which tends to be a bit spicier, and multi-colored, round Easter Egg radishes.
Storage and Handling:
Tear off radish leaves leaving about an inch of the stem. Store radishes loosely wrapped in a plastic bag in your refrigerator crisper drawer for up to a week. Before use, rinse them in cold water and gently scrub to remove any lingering dirt.
Culinary Uses:
Radishes can be eaten sliced with a little salt and pepper and added to salads. They can also be boiled, steamed, braised and glazed.
